The wires built-in insulation is very thick to prevent the cable becoming damaged. Even though the insulation is waterproof, it is not recommend using it under water.However, this Heat Cable can be used inside the terrarium and covered with appropriate substrate or cage furniture. It is also great for heating racking systems of smaller tubs. It is not recommended to allow animals to be able to come into contact with the substrate.Heat cable should also be controlled by an appropriate thermostat. An on/off Mat Stat is recommended, though a dimmer or pulse can also be used effectively.
