Now, with the remaining Avengers disbanded, The Fantastic Four out of the country, and The X-Men “preoccupied,” a mysterious figure hires Electro to perform a dastardly deed that will most likely be a catalyst for Captain America (or someone) to form a new team of heroes in a subsequent issue.“Breakout! Part One” breaks no new ground (How many times have we seen a massive jailbreak in super–hero comics?), and the issue suffers from Marvel’s modern tendency to draw certain scenes out two or three pages, when they deserve a mere two or three panels. However, the dialogue is realistic (What else would one expect from Brian Michael Bendis?), and the characters look powerfully iconic.
