Description Size: 3/4 inch Material: Sterling silver St Veronica is known as the woman who used a cloth to wipe the sweat and blood from the face of Christ as he was on his way to calvary. When she removed the cloth, the image of the face of Christ had miraculously appeared in the fabric. According to legend, she later used the cloth to heal the Emperor Tiberius of an unknown disease. The veil is now preserved as a relic in St Peter’s Basilica. Her act of kindness is also remembered as one of the Stations of the Cross. The front of this medal features St Veronica holding her veil with the inscription, in French, “St Veronica PPN” (Saint Veronica Pray For Us). The reverse shows the image of Christ on her veil.
